www.topgear.com/car-news/supercars/aston-dbs-superleggera-pays-homage-concordeAston Martin are delivering some attractive cars lately and looking at this one my mind is drawn back to 2006 , The DB9 had not long been released and Top Gear were suitably impressed . Then came the X150 , a stunning piece of Design labelled the successor to the E Type and having owned both of them the Jaguar is the more attractive and better built car . Sadly unlike Aston with the sensational car above , Jaguar have sadly exited the GT Marketplace . Instead of the Generic Jaguar DNA we have the stubby F Type which could easily wear a Japanese Badge and SV Saloons with Tea Tray Spoilers that belong on the nearest Council Estate . Where is the Jaguar Beauty in such Products ? Well at least we have the Aston to look at and wonder how things might have been had Jaguar replaced the X150 .

Or look at it another way, a special edition of a car so soon after release, sales are down with Aston Martin and the DBX crossover is now aiming to lift the drop in sales.

I believe the standard Superleggera is £225,000 whereas this Concorde edition is £95.000 more expensive at £320,000 and only 10 will be built as part of the Wings Series so not one of your usual role them out get 'em gone special edition models as were say the last X150 XKR bargains. “The car was developed by the Q by Aston Martin bespoke service and is the latest addition to the Aston Martin Wings Series, which combines motoring with aviation” “Alongside the Concorde Superleggera, a Vanquish S Red Arrows edition, V8 Vantage S Blades Edition and V12 Vantage S Spitfire tribute are already part of the marque’s Wings Series” www.motorsportmagazine.com/news/road-cars/aston-martin-commemorates-concorde-special-edition-superleggera

Its always difficult for a Prestige Manufacturer Ian , thats why Ferrari and Lamborghini are owned by Larger Companies with Deeper Pockets . Now getting back to the Post , why are Jaguar Cars turning into Anonymous Euroboxes driven by Lard Arse Sales Reps and Housewives ? Mercedes and BMW can still build an Elegant Identifiable Product but not Jaguar

That’s not an XKR-S, has the wrong front bumper, no R-S side skirts and no rear diffuser. Just a standard R that.

Slapped legs for being careless.😟 Rubbish Phil , at first glance many of these Cars that have been messed around with would full most People even Jaguar Dealers . I remember coming across a car similar to the one in your advert in Milton Keynes Jaguar . In this case some Plonker had wrapped the Chrome trim around the side windows in a Black Tape , what a fvckin mess . " This is the Black Edition " said the Salesman The X350 suffers from this problem too with Owners painting Front Grills and Boot Trim to match the body colour .

There are two versions of the XKR-S. The 4.2 2008 which was a limited edition run out model (basically a 4.2 XKR with what would become the speed pack and black suede headlining etc) The 5.0L version which went from 2011. The cheapest 5.0L version is this on autotrader: Cheapest XKR-S

I ran into one of your old Jaguar Forum Members Pete Harrison who owned one , he swapped it for an RS Focus Red Edition and regrets it .
